Test Notes

The Dynastar M-Cross 88, which showed off its multitude of talents immediately, is a big-time winner in my book. Dynastar’s E-Pro line has been a personal favourite of mine in the past, and the brand’s all-new M-Cross line is made with the same Hybrid Core technology, which provides a smooth, supple and damp feel. As a result, I had high expectations of this ski, and it definitely didn’t disappoint. My first impression was how responsive and turny it was. With a radius of 14 metres, the short turn reaction was to be expected, but what surprised me was how well it held an edge in bigger turns and varying snow conditions, and that it continued to be both smooth and predictable whether I was making high-speed carves, or agile, short-radius arcs. Additionally, this ski demonstrated its stability as I took it all over the mountain, whether it was in the trees, on spring corn, hard pack, or even a few ripper laps through a GS course. The versatility of the M-Cross is incredible, and its poppy, playful response will make you feel like a gymnast on snow, unable to wipe the smile off your face. —Katie Spittlehouse
