SWATCH NINES REIMAGINES THE PERFECT HIP

From April 9th - 13th 2024, the Swatch Nines will return to the atmospheric slopes of Schilthorn, Switzerland. In its second year at this spectacular location in the heart of the Swiss Alps, the Nines will revive one of the most celebrated features in its 15-year history: the Perfect Hip.

In 2016, the original Perfect Hip left an indelible mark as one of Swatch Nines’ most successful editions, with new high-air records that still stand today in both skiing and snowboarding, exceptional media coverage and an unforgettable experience. In 2024, the Nines will revisit the concept of a massive, perfectly shaped hip jump. Of course, it wouldn’t be Swatch Nines without a fresh creative vision, so fans can expect more than a few new ideas and variations in this transition-focused setup.

BREAKING THE MOLD
The Perfect Hip concept breaks away from the norm of Big Air-focused features and shifts the focus to more unconventional transitions. In addition to the central hip feature, a variety of additional features will challenge riders and viewers’ ideas about what’s possible on skis and snowboards.

“We’ve spent the past fifteen years building every imaginable kind of jump, and we’re always open to doing things differently. Over the past several years we’ve focused on more classic Big Air and Slopestyle setups, so in 2024 we’re shaking things up and reimagining the Perfect Hip. Hip jumps of this size and quality rarely if ever get built, so this is a special chance for riders and snowsports fans alike to see something really different.” —Nico Zacek, Swatch Nines Founder

“I went to the Nines the year before last, unfortunately I missed it last year due to an injury but this year I’ll be back and after seeing the amazing hip and transition setup I reckon it’s safe to say it could end up being one of the best park setups ever.” —Valentino Guseli, Snowboarder

NEW HEIGHTS FOR WOMEN
A full complement of female riders will be invited to session the Perfect Hip. It’s the first time that this many women will ride a hip feature of this size.

"I'm excited to finally have the chance to ride a hip of such standards. I was blown away by the footage of The Perfect Hip Back in 2016, and it'll be rad to see such an array of women hitting a setup like this, which hasn't really been done before." —Sarah Hoefflin, Freeskier
